Continuing with our little video series with Paul Jacobs! Interviews can be a scary process, and preparing for your interview is crucial. You need to be comfortable in answering the questions asked by your interviewer and also be prepared to ask questions in return, as Paul rightly states –  interviewing is a two-way street.
 
At the end of an interview, the interviewer will commonly ask, “Do you have any questions for us?” The answers you should never reply are, “no” or “not that I can think of.” Interviewing the company is just as important as them interviewing you. It’s an opportunity to not only show your interest in the business but also that you’ve done your research.
 
Additionally, asking questions will help you determine if the role is the right fit for yourself and your lifestyle. For example, you can ask about your responsibilities within the role as well as questions regarding the company. This will reiterate to the employer that you are interested in the position and keen to gain a future with the company.
 
Quick tip: Make sure that you do not ask any questions that have already been covered during the interview.

• What do you think are the most important qualities for someone to excel in this role?
• What is the culture of the company like?
• What do you like best about working for this company?
• Why was this position created?
